Real Bride - Catherine
This week we would love you all to meet another one of our gorgeous brides, Catherine! Catherine recently bought her dress here with us and came for her final appointment to collect her beautiful dress last week. We caught up with her to ask her a few questions about her dress shopping tips, and her experience here with us at Louise Perry Bridal.
Q. So Catherine, how long did your dress buying experience take from starting out looking to actually choosing and buying your dress?
A. I probably started looking at dresses online and getting an idea about what I liked when I first got engaged back in 2013. However when we booked the venue I started seriously looking so the whole process took around a year.
Q. Did you set out with a specific style in mind or were you open to suggestions?
A. In my head I had a few ideas about what I liked and what I didn't like... however 'the dress' ended up being a wild card that Louise suggested and was something I never would have thought I liked!
Q. How did you know your dress was 'the one'?
A. I was lucky enough to get all my bridesmaids in one room (no small feat when we live in different parts of the country) and there wasn't a dry eye in the house, that's when I knew. That and I didn't want to take the dress off (I would wear it everyday if could haha!
Q. How was your experience at Louise Perry Bridal?
A. Louise was absolutely fabulous and welcoming from the first nervous moment I stepped into the boutique. She was lovely and accommodating to all my friends who were with me and she took the time to listen to what I liked and didn't like and came up with some suggestions after I'd tried a few on. The dress I ended up choosing was her suggestion and I'm so glad I listened to her.
Q. What would your top tip be to any brides currently searching for their dream dress?
A. My top tip would be to keep an open mind when trying on dresses for the first time. Try on as many different styles as possible and pick out what you like about each dress, be open to suggestions!
