When should I start looking for my wedding dress?
We recommend looking for your dress about a year in advance of your wedding.
What will happen at my appointment?
Upon your arrival, we will discuss what you are looking for, and then make you a drink whilst you browse the dresses available. Then the fun starts and you can try on dresses and decide which ones to show your friends and family, whilst they relax in our viewing area.
If I find the dress of my dreams, what happens next?
We will order your chosen dress to be made to your size, brand new, especially for you. At this point we will take a deposit, which is 50% of the price of the dress.
How far in advance of my wedding should I order my dress?
Our dresses take approximately four months to make and you will need about a month for fittings, so it is recommended that you order your dress at least six months in advance.
What size should I order?
We will take your measurements and check these against our size chart, which will show us which size to order for you.
What about fittings?
When your dress arrives, small alterations may be needed, such as shortening the hem, or adjusting the straps, to make it a perfect fit for you. If this is the case, it will cost extra and it is worth budgeting a little more overall (around £100 - £200) to account for alterations.
How much should I budget for my wedding gown?
As well as the wedding gown, you may wish to think about budgeting for other items such as shoes, a veil, alterations and accessories. Our dresses range from £540 to £1860, with the majority of our dresses being around £1000.
Eek, I’m getting married in two months and I don’t have a dress yet! What can I do?
Don’t worry! Come to our shop and have a chat. We always have sample gowns available for sale, come and try a few on and you could end up taking one away the same day, for a fraction of the recommended retail price!
If you don’t find anything in our shop we can always recommend other shops with a selection of ready to buy gowns.
What if you don’t stock the dress I want in my size?
Come in and try it on anyway! The gowns we have in store range from a size 10 – 18, so there will probably be something to try. If there is a specific gown you want but it is not your size, we have ways of showing you how the gown will look on you, so do come in and have a look. Of course when we order the gown it will be in your size so your dress will be a near perfect fit!
I’m planning to lose weight before the big day, what size gown should I order?
In reality, although many brides will lose weight before their wedding, their dress size may not change much overall. If you think you will lose weight, please let us know and we can talk about which size to order for you.
